As many of you may be aware in November 2006 Alfa Romeo amended the service schedule to recommend that all models with TWIN SPARK or JTS engines have the cambelts replaced at 36000 miles NOT 72000 as previously stated.
We have often raised this issue and advised our customers to have the cambelts replaced earlier as in our experience they rarely lasted to 72000 miles. We hope that now this problem has been brought to the attention of Alfa owners not only will it save them the cost and inconvenience that a broken cambelt can cause but also will restore confidence in the 'Alfa brand'.
